When I was at my poorest we owned a home in Georgetown---granted it was the tiniest one in the neighborhood.  However, anytime people asked where I'd live and I'd tell them I would literally cringe as they would act like it was such a big deal.

I am not one to place a value on a 'zip' or a neighborhood name. I am the exact opposite.  When somebody has asked where I lived--I never say the exact neighborhood first becasue the assumptions and prejudices sort of gross me out.  I might just say 'NW'..unless further probed, etc.

Like another poster stated,  the only thing that matters to me is my own HHI.  Why would I care about my neighbors? I choose a neighborhood for its amenities, location, schools, walkability, etc. not because I think it makes me a better person in the eyes of somebody else.  Those are self-esteem issues.[/quote]
