No, they are really not "light years" better. And if you read any of the Maryland Public School board threads here, you would know that many think Curriculum 2.0 is very detrimental.

Actually the only jurisdictions in the DC area that have neighborhoods in the wealthiest 100 are: Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, McLean, and ...believe it or not....Arlington.
The real question is why are there no neighborhoods in DC or Great Falls on the list? Or Middleburg?
Seriously! I live in Arlington and my kids go to a DC Big 3. However, I have been told on this board (but not IRL) that I must be too poor to live in DC.

Even at 500k, we would never buy a 1M+ home, which is one of the many reasons we don't live closer in.. So many better things to do with our money. Though we do have two rental properties in McLean Hills off Magarity....but that's"hood" to you high rollers.
Kudos to you, nice to hear someone sensible chime in. My HHI is nowhere near 500k, but if it were I'd hope I'd maintain that same philosophy

I always find these kinds of posts funny in a sad way.
You know the OP does not have close to the median salaries, but because they have an address somewhere in the entire large area like for people to pretend they are wealthy. Resting on the laurels of a few of their wealthy neighbors so to speak. This is pretty ludicrous because there is so much $ all over the DC, NoVa, MoCo region.
When I was at my poorest we owned a home in Georgetown---granted it was the tiniest one in the neighborhood. However, anytime people asked where I'd live and I'd tell them I would literally cringe as they would act like it was such a big deal.
I am not one to place a value on a 'zip' or a neighborhood name. I am the exact opposite. When somebody has asked where I lived--I never say the exact neighborhood first becasue the assumptions and prejudices sort of gross me out. I might just say 'NW'..unless further probed, etc.
Like another poster stated, the only thing that matters to me is my own HHI. Why would I care about my neighbors? I choose a neighborhood for its amenities, location, schools, walkability, etc. not because I think it makes me a better person in the eyes of somebody else. Those are self-esteem issues.
