Really you should be doing that even for a dec 15 notification. My DC did one ED (deferred), one EA (accepted), one EA (UVA), and 3 RD apps before hearing from the ED school. Based on the deferral now doing a few more apps before 12/31. Sure a UVA acceptance would mean not doing some of these additional apps but we learned with the first kid not to wait until ED decisions to do the rest of the apps as you are not in your best frame of mind.
