Her arrogance was not in the fact that she didnt wish to date him, it was in her name-calling and obvious insecurity.  She fears she cant do better than him.   And it says nowhere that this guy did anything wrong, besides asking someone out.  A secure, attractive woman would be flattered and let him down gently.  And admire the old coot for his guts.

Nothing is flattering about being hit on by much older men. If anything, an insecure woman is the one who would be flattered by that. There are plenty of women their ages around to date. Definitely don't want the guy who devalues women as they age, given we're all going to be old one day, if we're lucky. I'd rather a guy my age who will love me flaws and all, as we age.[/quote]
