You would have to drive, but the Hyatt in Cambridge MD is a great family place. It has a year round pool, fire pits for s'mores, several restaurants, movies in the pool at night (not so great for infant) even has a kiddie camp so you could hit the spa for a break. Good luck. The Homestead is also gorgeous at the Holidays, but again driving down there is a must. Once you are there, you don't have to get back in the car. It has lots of kid stuff to do.
Kiddie camp there starts at 4 yo, so probably not going to be available, but I agree the property and grounds are lovely. However, there isn't anywhere to walk to - you are on the property all the time, they have a couple of hotel shops and that's it. But it is not a bad place to relax.
