My friend who lives in Maryland said that she's friends with a Principal in a highly desirable DC school. Her principal friend offered her child a place at the school. What would a principal do this? Because he/she thinks he/she can without any consequences. We need to stress to everyone that there are consequences. Folks don't take it seriously. That's why THESE posts are so important. The next time I'm at a dinner party and the subject comes up, I will reference the frustration of Hill families (and point folks here for first hand accounts.)
You know why people don't take it that seriously? Because of posts like this. Because people hear from a friend who has a friend at "a highly desirable DC school" that that person offered a space to a non-resident. That is hardly credible. I assume that you know at which "highly desirable school" this friend of a friend works? If so, why did you not report this so that it could be investigated? If not, why did you not investigate further so that you could report the situation?
