I just moved from Olney and while there are neighborhoods that have that kind of vibe, it is a large area. What is wowed is how they have grouped a large amount of supermarkets and strip mall shops in a singe area. I fond places near-by, like Brookeville and Ashton to have more of a small town feel.
Brookeville? LOL! There's historic Brookeville, which is quaint and small. But they use Olney for shopping. Otherwise, Brookeville is Tanterra, an extension of James Creek, and Sunshine/Brighton Dam area. It hardly has that small town feel. LOL! Ashton is smaller but again, it's the same thing. I consider Ashton and Brookeville almost "suburbs" of Olney, as that's often where people to shop and eat.
