Glad to hear so many people have fond memories of the 7e's Clam Stand on Southern Artery. My father and his brother owned the clam stand and all of them worked in it at one time or another. I joined the navy and left New England in the early 60's and the clam stand was closed some time in the late 60's. My father had died and two of his brothers had moved to Florida and the other brother owned the Sevigny's Candy company which he later sold to the Washburn Candy Company. The clams at 7e's Clam Stand were so good because the clams were fresh from the ocean and the oil in the fryers was changed weekly and God help anyone caught putting clams in a potato fryer or a potato in a clam fryer and the frying oil was kept very hot. God they were good I have never found a place with clams that good and I doubt if they have separate fryers for clams and potatoes or change the oil so frequently. Certainly haven't found a decent clam in Maryland, DC or Virginia, no bellies and a clam isn't right without a belly in my humble opinion. Russ 7e
