If you adamantly only want to transfer one, most REs will respect that. Unless you have many eggs retrieved with a high fraction of embryos continuing to divide well past day 3, I suspect that your RE will strongly recommend transferring more than one (though the odds of multiples at 44 would still be fairly low). Has your DH had a semen analysis done? If you're still menstruating regularly, sperm quality is at least as much of a factor as maternal age. It's amazing, though, how little attention gets paid to male factor issues in the media etc (compared to maternal age).[/quote]
