Getting into instate flagships in the mid atlantic area is increasingly difficult, and private schools are 50-60k per year. High end publics like Michigan, UCLA, and UCB are pushing 50 thousand for OOS. Ole Miss and some other southeastern schools that have name recognition due to sports have really low OOS tuition and are offering generous aid on top of that, so naturally there's the interest.
