Ugh. This thread is really upsetting. We just moved to the neighborhood and I'll have two kids at BFES. I had heard things ranging from it's decent to it's really good. And beyond that, we had heard great things about Herbert Hoover MS which I see now the great principal that they've had there is leaving. Part of the reason we're moving to that location is the schools. I feel sick to my stomach right now.
I think it's too early to worry. In my experience, if reality and DCUM were a Venn diagram, the area of overlap would be pretty small.
I've been a parent at BF for several years and the PP should be concerned. The PP regarding the Venn diagram - how can you make a statement of how bad BF really is without experiencing it? If you don't know what you are talking about, the STFU.
Ok, I'm the PP who is just moving to the neighborhood. PP who says I should be concerned, are you the one who said you received no feedback from your child's teacher? Because that's been my experience at our current ES. Unless I reached out to her with specific questions, i heard NOTHING from her regarding my DD's work. So that honestly doesn't scare me b/c now I know to be more vocal. But it's the other stuff I'm hearing here about the young and inexperienced teacher pop that's making me very nervous.
