I can only speak for my experience of a healthy baby I was planning to have at home but ended up having in the hospital: For a home birth, McLean Peds wants to see the baby within 48 hours of the birth and then again at 1 week (they like to get a call from the midwife on how baby's doing within a few hours of the birth). For a hospital birth, Dr Evars was there within 24 hours and came at least 2 more times during our 5 day stay - I was grateful for his presence and he got the hospital Drs to back off the unnecessary repeat tests. My pleasure! We had a consult with the office manager in my third trimester and then had them sign some paperwork BirthCare gave us to confirm they'd be our Ped practice. Our daughter ended up being born in hospital and McLean was listed as our daughter's Ped practice on the admitance paperwork. The hospital called them for us - my husband & I were just discussing how we should give McLean a call when Dr Evars walked in the room. The hospital had already alerted him.[/quote]
