Shouldn't it be the opposite? If they'll see each other next year, it's even more important to start a paper trail now, in case something happens in the future.

I'm all for OP filing charges. Nothing will get done, I think. But there will be evidence that OP tried to get this resolved, so when this girl strikes again, on OP's child or someone else, police will hopefully look at her history and be a little less lenient.
