We should be paying for the health programs that have existed for decades. Happy to have my tax dollars go there. Instead doge gutted the Ebola task force at no net savings and as PP posted, our tax dollars are going to corrupt and horrible expenditures. I’d add to the above list hiding Israel’s wishes in Iran. Millions of people will die due to the USAID cuts and it demonstrateably makes Americans less safe from disease outbreaks.

I'm actually much more concerned about drug resistance and TB long term than I am Ebola, but this demonstrates why global public health matters.  Disease does not know borders and the whole knee-jerk response to shut down travel isn't a viable long term strategy.[/quote]

The US should participate in keeping the world safe from deadly viruses.  Other countries should too.  I vote in the US, so obviously I am most interested in the US response, since that's where I can make an impact.  [/quote]
