Southern Utah for the national parks and outdoors - our favorite is Zion, and we love the town of Springdale—Moab for mountain biking and a day trip to Arches.  St. George, Utah, is an underrated destination where you can stay for a week without getting bored. Road biking is unbeatable, and they have plenty of rentals, hiking in Snow Canyon, and go to whatever a mature theater is in town at Tuachan - the most beautiful outdoor venue. Lots of good golf around, too.  Rent a boat or ATVs at Sand Hollow.  Definitely don't stay in a hotel - too many good vrbo's - the Inn at Entrada has townhomes that are ideal for small families, and Arcadia development is good for larger families.

If you like baseball, spring training in the Scottsdale area is fun.
