It depends on the grade.  Just like at any school, some grades have more douchebag/cliquey parents than others.  There are plenty of nice, normal families, too, but they tend to be working parents who aren't around as much.  It seems (like everywhere) that the obnoxious ones make themselves the most visible.[/quote]

Collegiate parent here. You can choose to participate as much or as little as you want. More birthday parties in earlier years but they taper off quite quickly.

We don’t really circulate in the social circles much (nor do we care to, kids keep us so busy already) — and it’s fine!

The boys are there for an excellent education (which I believe the school more than provides). The parent stuff is all self-manufactured noise IMO and you can self select out without feeling weird. [/quote]
