I am going to be curious to see what happens with the Herndon Kids who had been placing into Langley for Russian since they cannot do that any more. How many of them will find their way to Skyview over SLHS over staying at Herndon.
\\ What makes you think they won't get grandfathered into Langley? There is a sizeable number of kids who transfer from Westfield to Langley using the Russian loophole.
I don't read PP's post as necessarily suggesting the kids who've already placed into Langley from Herndon for language won't be allowed to continue. But FCPS has clearly stated it's not accepting new student transfer requests for foreign language. In Herndon's case, the number of students transferring into Langley, presumably for a foreign language (fewer than 10 this year) is much smaller than the number transferring into South Lakes, presumably for IB (158). The question, going forward, is how opening Skyview may affect transfers among Herndon, South Lakes, and Skyview.
