I have 2 kids there. It’s not a trade school, but does have access to vocational classes. Kids there opt in for the stem. I’m sure a q and a night is there for folks interested. The school is small, but the kids I know are getting into excellent schools. New school opens in September. Kids from all schools already attend the CTE classes so I’m hoping that nothing substantial will changing socially
How are the regular classes there? English, history, etc. meaning the mandatory classes that make up almost the entire schedule? Are there intensified options for each, or would that have to be a DE class? We went to the tour and realized it’s all fantastic, but we’re shown all electives (and how could you even take advantage of more than one per yr?).
Regular classes are like all the high schools. If there is no DE option then there is intensified, but they don’t really start de until your sophomore year. At the other schools you can get in an AP class freshman year but not at tech. That might have changed by now (world history AP). I highly recommend considering taking pe over the summer (you can do that as a rising freshman) so you can have 2 electives plus your language outside of your core classes
