Regular classes are like all the high schools. If there is no DE option then there is intensified, but they don’t really start de until your sophomore year. At the other schools you can get in an AP class freshman year but not at tech. That might have changed by now (world history AP). I highly recommend considering taking pe over the summer (you can do that as a rising freshman) so you can have 2 electives plus your language outside of your core classes

Is world History AP a common (?) Freshman class at the comprehensive high schools?

I can see why Langston may not want to move, but Arlington Tech's arguments against it are really weak. This isn't going to really affect AT. The move to the new building and the expansion of AT will be much more impactful than sharing a large building with another small program (they already share with other programs).

there is one very loud and AT person on here. The flux is nothing, really. The 70 new kids will blend with the 1400 and the 4 programs that are already there. It’s a great STEM school where all the kids are academically oriented. Private schools also accept DE courses. Our babysitter got a full ride to a SLAC and many de credit transfers. If your kid likes it, great. If not another will happily take the spot.

That’s not the the extent of the plans, which they keep changing on the go. There are many people concerned about it, including teachers at Langston

right but there aren't enough langston kids to really impact AT

Langston new directions is about 90 kids which isn’t a ton, but will have some impact. The greater question is how it will impact class availability and if they decide to do their two separate pathways with different administrators.
