I think this sort of thing is like an addiction. Like, they keep needing more and more (money, sex, drugs) to feel something. And at some point 1-1 relationships seem boring. So, they keep ramping it up because they have everything at their easy access. They need something more extreme to feel something and to feel special/have things others don't have. In no way excusing it, it's horrible, but I don't think these people all start off as bad people. Even look at the first wives and children of some of these folks - seem like normal, decent people. But more recent decisions seem in line with just wanting more, more, more. [/quote]

Because they're hyper greedy, hyper competitive, and hyper ruthless people, which is why they are driven to do things like acquire wealth at the expense of others when they have more money than they and future generations could ever use.[/quote]
