Both live in the shadow of Sidwell. Maret can't beat them in terms of rigor, prestige, college outcomes, and sports. GDS can't beat them in sports or college outcomes.
GDS beats Maret because it doesn't have all the problems with the athletic fields that make people hate Maret (see the various news articles). GDS also has a lot more NMSF than Maret, and I always had the sense it was academically much stronger. I think Maret only had one NMSF this year.
NMSF this NMSF that. GDS academics > Maret academics, but NMSF numbers are not some foolproof/unbiased indicator of superior academics.
Ok then what's your evidence that Sidwell is superior to GDS? And that GDS is superior to Maret? You don't want to look at performance data from a national test administered independently to all students. What indicators are you using?
If you want to look at average test scores, do SAT/ACT not PSAT. Sidwell: 1460/33 GDS: 1430/32 Maret: an abysmal 1380/32 Already we can see the difference. I don't care to do a deep dive into the different course offerings but here is the surface of it all.
Where are those numbers published?
Niche.com
