I know someone in another state who participates with a group called Indivisible. I believe they have been involved in organizing protests and know they stress non-violence. If you google them you can probably track down a local group.
OP. This is productive for others but I’m mixed and literally have no family or friends who vote Republican let alone Trumpism. I’m not on Facebook or anything where I can fight with my lunatic fringe family because none of them are loons.
I’ve heard more than one expert on how to confront autocracy say that the most important thing you can do is to get involved in your community and make connections with others. It doesn’t matter what color you are or what their politics may be. We just need to start interacting so that we see each other as fellow Americans with joint interests. Get to know your neighbors and coworkers. Join a club or civic organization. You don’t need to pick political fights. It helps connect with those who feel similarly, and those who need persuasion will be more open to that nice person from my group than their imagination’s idea of the opposition based on what they hear from Trump and Fox news - probably a violent, Anti-American thug with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
