The target should be sub 6 minutes or less with the ability to maintain a good practice pace after the run. The times will very between boys and girls. Remember for soccer, it's not just how fast they run it but what can they are to do after the run.

Tryouts are to start the end of February 2026 with most schools holding interest meetings and events since early fall 2025. The 2026 season starts the 1st week of March. Parents and students will need to monitor the schools social media and athletic calendar. If you haven't done so already, make sure you have completed the VHSL Athletic Participation/Parent Consent/Evaluation Form and have that ready. You will need to get a physical and see your doctor prior to attending any event.
