Stumbled across this article on Instagram and as a parent of a kid who was just accepted and considering Georgetown, I am not sure I should share this with them. Really disappointing read. I wonder if anyone in the know can chime in on the situation at Georgetown. Are students that unhappy? I know my kid likes the idea of school spirit. They may have to consider other options, including BC and ND. Unfortunately ND was a deferral. Won't know about BC until the spring either. And to the HC poster, yes they applied. They made it super easy with a fee waiver and no supplemental essay. https://georgetownvoice.com/2025/12/03/georgetowns-spirit-deficit/?utm_campaign=linkinbio&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=later-linkinbio
For any school, kids really only care about football and basketball…and nobody cares about non-FCS football unless it’s a place like Montana State that plays for the FBS national championship (and there isn’t anything else to really do where they are located). Even then…schools like Stanford, UCLA and many others have terrible attendance for football games. If Georgetown basketball can put together a decent season, then you will see stronger attendance.
