I do hope the OP realizes that President's Trump birthday happens to fall on Flag Day, which is a recognized Federal Holiday. Presidents can and do change the dates that National Parks offer free entry. Juneteenth wasn't even a Federal holiday until 2021, whereas Flag Day was declared a Federal Holiday in 1949.
There are some criticisms of Trump and the Trump Administration that are overblown but this certainly isn't one of them. Anyone suggesting that it makes sense for a sitting POTUS to have buildings named after themselves or as in this case, change Federal Holiday protocols in a manner that involves their own birthday??? How can anyone with an IQ over 70 try to defend this arrogance and narcissism?
By remembering that commemorating deceased former presidents has long been a thing. Maybe by Flag Day it might make sense.
Did you know that George Washington had numerous ships named named for him - when he was alive? USS Washington (1775) was a schooner named Endeavor acquired by Gen. Washington in October 1775, renamed Washington, and re-rigged as a brigantine. USS Washington (1776) was a row galley that operated in Narragansett Bay during the winter and spring of 1776. USS Washington (1776) was one of 13 frigates authorized by the Continental Congress. She was launched in August 1776. USS Washington (1776), a lateen-rigged two-masted galley, was built in the autumn of 1776. USS George Washington (1798) was a 24-gun sloop-of-war commissioned in 1798.
Did you know that Washington wasn’t President until 1789 so he wasn’t in charge of naming all those after himself?
