Here’s how I got over my crush. I focused on things I found even slightly annoying about his personality and just imagined us being together and me being super annoyed by these traits — like he wasn’t a great listener so I just imagined us fighting about how he never listened to me, etc. I also imagined waking up next to him with bad morning breath, farting, having bad personal hygiene. I was pretty disciplined about replacing fantasy thoughts with these thoughts every time and it eventually faded away.
This works as a crush killer, but be mindful of what you're training your brain. All humans wake up with morning breath, unless they don't wake up breathing. All humans fart. All humans have weird personal hygiene habits, at least sometimes (I'm not quite 24 hours out of surgery, and I know I look about as off as I feel!). And be real: not everyone is going to be an attentive listener all the time, or even realistically most of it. While ruminating on these aspects of your crush's humanity may kill the crush, it may also impact your ability to love actual humans in their full humanity some day, which will impact your relationships. "I thought they were so DREAMY until I saw them as a whole person" is a weird vibe.
