[/quote] I'm not agreeing with the PP but if girls are really spending $5-10K on ONE OUTFIT, then I doubt they are covering that with afterschool jobs and tutoring gigs. My daughter made $5K at her whole summer job, but worked all summer and that was considered a good job. And many of the good jobs (internships) are increasingly unpaid. Even if you're charging $50/hour for tutoring, that's like maybe 2K for a whole school year's worth per kid I think there are some girls who have successful influencer accounts that could make the kind of money to afford $5-10K outfits, but I don't think your average hardworking college kid is doing that.
