VT Engineering can be a tough admit for anyone. VT non-Engineering is an easier admit than for Engineering. One will get a variety of seemingly conflicting answers unless one separates those two different admissions categories. [/quote]

It’s two entirely different levels of competition for engineering vs everything else there. It’s kind of weird for a school to be super good at just one thing and very mid at all other subjects. [/quote]

DP. [b] The in-state acceptance rate is actually 47%[/b], per SCHEV.  I think a lot of people are truly misinformed here.
