Completely agree.  The water will be hot, the pool will be slow, it’s not very deep, and the weather is almost always hot.

I have been thinking this week about how all stars feels so anticlimactic. The whole vibe of summer swim changes when the practices are just the small group of kids doing all stars. All the kids look like they are just kind of over it.

Where I grew up, the qualifier meets were held during the week leading up to the All-Star meet that Saturday. So the team banquet was always the night after the All-Star meet and then everyone was done. It feels weird to have an extra week of practice after a team banquet. And it drags the season out unnecessarily. It feels like there is all this momentum leading up to divisionals and then it just kind of deflates. [/quote]
