Do you believe the oil industry should repay all of the billions in subsidies it has received? Do you think Israel should repay the US for the billions in military aid it has received? Do you believe the banking industry should have to repay the billions in bailout funds it got in the subprime crisis? Do you believe Trump should have to replay the massive amounts of money he has grifted? Or is it just lowly struggling college students who need to pay?
I'm not particularly a fan of most of what you mention here, but only the student loans were constructed as loans. The others were always giveaways. No one ever agreed to repay them, unlike student loans.
Exactly. Did any of those other parties sign an agreement to repay that money? They did not.
So what if they did or didn't sign an agreement? Why should they have gotten the money in the first place? Why is that so much more important than having an educated workforce?
Around two trillion in student loans. You assume these loans are required to have an educated workforce. The reality is the easy loan availability is the reason colleges raised their prices so much. A lot of people also don't need to be going to college, or going for as long, and since COVID more people have realized this and the numbers are down.
