It means they want to grandstand. The hearing is meant to help them spin whatever narrative they are pushing.

Given that high level leaders, including a former Senate Majority Leader, and the role that Congress has in oversight and funding of any government program, and the increased scrutiny by the public and media to learn more about any real materials or evidence from aliens, why is it that nothing has come out? These hearings have demonstrated nothing more than eye witness testimony is extremely unreliable. [/quote]
