Nikki Haley would have won in a sweeping landslide over both Biden or Harris had she won the Republican nomination. Most Americans rejected Harris not because she was a woman of color but because they were upset about Democratic policies - from illegal immigration to Covid-era restrictions to the cost of living to a whole host of social issues. A horrible candidate like Trump was the only thing that kept the election reasonably close. And now Democrats are in danger of changing nothing at all except they'll put up a boring middle aged white man and say, see, we learned our lesson. And then they'll lose again in the post-Trump era because they have done nothing at all to change their more unpopular policies. Trump is the only thing that keeps Democrats viable. [/quote]
