This is not hyperbole or pie in the sky hysteria. This is a serious question many of us are asking? I can easily envision him doing this with his hand-picked military brass and Supreme Court doing exactly as he dictates.

I know there is nothing in the Constitution allowing a cancelled election but rump governs by his version of the US Constitution and Congress and the Supreme Court go along with whatever he decides is constitutional.

I suspect that far more smarter people than I are already doing their homework on this subject.

Yes, and you should expect it will happen unless there is enough pressure put on GOP to do something about it sooner than later.

There will be a major terror attack that justifies canceling elections. It won't likely be a false flag, just convenient. They are dismantaling intelligence and fbi, so it's more likely an attack will happen

That's the wrong lesson. Nikki Haley would have won in a sweeping landslide over both Biden or Harris had she won the Republican nomination. Most Americans rejected Harris not because she was a woman of color but because they were upset about Democratic policies - from illegal immigration to Covid-era restrictions to the cost of living to a whole host of social issues. A horrible candidate like Trump was the only thing that kept the election reasonably close. And now Democrats are in danger of changing nothing at all except they'll put up a boring middle aged white man and say, see, we learned our lesson. And then they'll lose again in the post-Trump era because they have done nothing at all to change their more unpopular policies. Trump is the only thing that keeps Democrats viable.

No, we’re not having midterms or an election in 2028. Take that to the bank.

He is 78 years old and obese. How long can this go on?

He will be succeeded by some other wackjob. He doesn’t matter any longer since it’s unlikely we will have legitimate elections again. They can just appoint presidents from now on.

This is a cult of personality. There’s no successor in line. Vance? No one likes or respects him.

The last Trump administration was a cult of personality. But people like Musk have taken advantage of that to further their own agenda. They are just using Trump, and when he dies or is no longer useful they will find someone else.

There is no replacement for Trump. There has not been one viable candidate that can take on the role of cult leader. This ends with him.

People are awake. What can regular people actually do when those in power do nothing?

There are a lot of us who still remember the protests that brought Johnson down and an end to Viet Nam war. Of course, ultimately, it also brought us the Watergate Constitutional crisis and we survived that. The difference is that ever the most conservative Republican, Barry Goldwater, kept his oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the US

We take a page from Martin Luther King and protest peacefully wearing Covid masks.

As long as there's still a right to peaceful protest.

Hmmm.

That's interesting. There's what you say and then there's what's actually going on....

Călin Georgescu in Romania, election cancelled;
Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, de-railed by President Lula’s stooge judges (with CIA help);
Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia shot-up with five bullets in May last year (survived miraculously);
Alternative-for-Deutschland Party de-platformed by the Scholz-Merz ruling junta;
Marine Le Pen, leading candidate (by far) for President of France, defenestrated on Mickey Mouse charges

Source: https://www.kunstler.com/p/you-wouldnt-want-to-be-him-on-that

ALL of these are in one direction. The left against the right.

So while standing on one foot and juggling and lecturing us about "democracy", please explain what's actually happening in the paragraph above. Just coincidence? Just one-offs? I don't think so.

Yes of course. He already said President Musk helped him win in 2024.

FBI under Kash Patel can easily order wiretaps and surveillance on any “opposition” candidates. This DOJ will be under a lot of pressure to not take cases related to the Fair Voting Act. This is all very dire.
