Bolded is the standard everywhere.  If a club includes tournaments in fees, families are still responsible for coach's travel and accommodations.  Who else would tell you what tournaments to play?  You think that should be up to the parents?  I'm confused by what you are saying or you must not have been at other places before.

Players getting called up from the second team to the first is also pretty common everywhere unless you carry a roster of 20+.[/quote]

No need to be mean.  Key take away is players pay one way or another - either collected by club or team.   Tournaments and coach travel is NOT free.[/quote]
