extra time can also apply to assignments. we had "renegotiate deadlines" as an accommodation in addition to extra-time.  IME, the problem is that teachers often don't grade things right away and by the time you know something was not turned in, it is also too late to hand it in late.  But, it is still worth getting these and trying to use them.  YMMV depending on teacher. [/quote]

Renegotiate deadlines is a good one. We found that happened as a matter of course but it’s better to be included.

As to the not being graded or grades not being posted issue, I found that alternative options for turning assignments was the winner when it came to success. If you turn it in by email you have a record that’s pretty hard to challenge. And I had my kid copy me on the email.

One caution. For me extra time on assignments was not a gift. There is an ultimate deadline and having things get backed up was a disaster. Keeping up worked far better. My son is now in CC and I still see the same problem of an almost insurmountable backlog due to extended time if he opts
