At our club, the boosters give all the coaches an annual bonus of 3-5k that I think is a gift, so it’s not taxed. We needed a new coach a few years ago and it was really hard to recruit because the cost of living in our town is so high. Fortunately, we have a couple of coaches who fit into that “40 and retired” demographic and can afford to live here on a coach’s salary. The other assistant coaches live in a different town and commute. [/quote]
