Noah Wyle is such a cutie.
Is he jewish? He plays a Jew on the show.
Why? I really like it. I wasn’t sure about the hour by hour time frame, but I’m finding I like it. I like hospital shows, and one of the pitfalls is always those patients that you wish you could see more of. The lawsuit is so dumb. Good or bad, hospital shows are hospital shows. You have the doctors and staff and their ongoing storylines, and the patients supplying everything from comedy to tragedy. I could make a bingo card. Twin to Twin Transfer Syndrome. Major Disaster, patient identities get switched. Heroic correction of diagnosis: omg your child does not have a rare cancer it’s actually strep! The Chrighton estate should have taken their free money and run.
Why what?
Why is someone asking if he’s Jewish? It’s not relevant to the thread and it’s just weird to ask.
Of course it is. I am wondering if he's Jewish in real life like the character on the show. If not, it's kind of a weird thing to throw into an episode.
You sound extremely anti-semitic
No they really don't. I think they're concerned about non-Jews representing real ones.
Dude, it's called acting. If you're looking for "representation" in a show like this, you're... a little lost. You don't seem to have an actual complaint about the performance, or the content of the show. Stop making drama where there isn't any.
It is very much a conversation, when and in what circumstances it's appropriate for someone to play a character whose demographics are so different from their own. If someone in blackface played a character, would that be a problem? If so, then why is it ok for someone not Jewish to play a Jewish character? I'm not saying that non-Jews can't play Jews - or that Jews can't play non-Jews! - but it is certainly an open conversation.
+1 Very much agreed.
