I mean, he's a DSA member who hates job-creating big business. That's about as close to a Marxist as one can get in the US.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Can someone please share why certain people love Elrich and certain people hate him? May I direct you to Arlington County's "Expanded Housing Opportunities" (formerly know as Missing Middle) for all the info needed to effectively oppose "attainable housing." It has turned into an expensive fiasco for Arlington County, and it will soon be paying for multiple lawsuits caused by the Board's ill-conceived embrace of Expanded Housing Opportunities.
That one was even much more reasonable in that it issued a certain number of exemptions to build multifamily annually, and I believe that after five years they were to assess the outcomes. The one proposed in MOCO is much more insidious.
If even every person that signed this petition tossed some tens of dollars into a legal fund there would be quite a legal warchest.

Even if everyone contributed $100 there would only be about $200k in the war chest. That’s not even enough for a good complaint. This is easily the dumbest statement I’ve read since opening up to any random page of the AHS.

“Even in a Montgomery County Democratic primary, the pendulum is swinging from the far-far left toward the center left in 2026 compared to 2022. If this trend is reality in June of ’26, that’s Andrew Friedson’s lane.”

Friedson is a buffoon. Anyone that has interacted with him in person knows it. His only advantage is fundraising.
I am curious how much of fundraising will stick around when his friends and neighbors realize that he is a proponent of them living next door to an apartment building.

Developer rhetoric. It's nonsense, but probably effective with poorly informed voters.
