You have to have a certain IQ to be places in CES and ILS. You must be talking about BES, in which case you still need an IEP and have a disability like emotionally disturbed. Try again. [/quote] DCPS can qualify you for a BES classroom based on its own assessments. So, yes, it is in the framework of emotional disturbance, but it is evidenced by violence in the classroom and does not require non-DCPS-based sign off. In reality, that means violent children can get moved to self-contained specialized classrooms if a school principal or special education lead follows the DCPS process and jumps through the appropriate hoops. Some principals are more willing to do this than others.[/quote]
