I just had a child 3.5 years ago and we did not do an 8 week ultrasound when I was 8 weeks (4+ years ago).  I have a very difficult time believing that ultrasounds were common at 6, 7, or 8 weeks 10+ years ago.

Since I also had recurrent miscarriages back in 1999 and 2000, which is 13 years ago, I had ultrasounds at 6 weeks. Believe me, looking for that heartbeat was the most stressful time of the appointment. The ultrasound was always done at the first appointment at my doctor's appointment regardless of whether you had history of miscarriage or not. Since the first one was born in 1995, with no miscarriage history, it was common.This was in NJ.
