ICYMI: Christmas has become a secular holiday. I know Jewish and Muslim families who decorate with a tree. Just steer clear of any song referencing Jesus, but don’t be afraid to use a song referencing Christmas. Jingle Bells Winter Wonderland All I Want for Christmas is You Jingle Bell Rock Last Christmas Run, Run Rudolph Etc.
Omg not this nonsense again. Christmas is not a secular holiday. It is a religious holiday. Sure, people celebrate it in a secular fashion and never once think of Jesus. The way I celebrate Hannukah by spinning a dreidal and listening to Adam Sandler. This doesn’t make hannukah a secular holiday it just makes me someone who is appropriating the fun parts of someone else’s religion. Which is fine.
Fun fact : many of your so called Christian Christmas traditions came from Pagan religions not Christianity. Wreaths, gift giving, Christmas lights, decorating trees and Yule logs belonged to pagan religions and were appropriated by Christianity .
Yes we know. They are still related to a Christmas though. This come up every year, the non religious people want a reason to do “ Christmas “ so find any way they can to explain themselves by calling it secular and jumping all over our traditions..
Wait, can you say "appropriation" of Christian traditions by non-religious people?
