No, none of us who stay expect any help except from each other. It's entertaining how you all are trying so hard to be insulting when I was simply trying to offer a different perspective. As usual though, the posters of DCUM who don't live in the affected areas and don't go through hurricane scares annually are experts on what it's like and what the characteristics of the people who live there are. When you're on the roof with rising waters, the Coast Guard will put themselves at risk to save you.  Unless your neighbors own mitary grade helicopters this idea that you will be able to bail yourselves out is nuts.

I grew up in Florida, I lived through the "scares".  The government would much rather you evacuate for no reason than underestimate and you die.  They err on the side of caution and you should too.[/quote]
