No, it isn't. Totally different purposes. There are always different rules for kids v. adults. Students are supposed to be learning by doing, and making mistakes, and learning from the mistakes. Second graders could use a calculator to do their fast fact worksheets, but then they aren't learning. No one says it is hypocritical for adults to use calculators. Same with other tools that make life quicker and easier after you've already learned the basic skills. Learn to form your letters before using a keyboard. Learn to do calculations by long hand before using a calculator. Learn to write a strong sentence, paragraph, 5-paragraph essay, creative writing text, etc., before using AI editors.[/quote]

the real difference is that the letter is being used to broadcast factual information that could have been bullet pted w incomplete sentences

if the drama club cant use chat gpt to send a notice to the wider community re about tryouts for the play then that would be hypocritical

that said, i would still kind of expect those letters to be original. and i doubt you would see this on the collegiate level bc the president would simply want to write it themselves becuase they are an academic for whom it is not laborious and authentically are reflecting on the year ahead. i guess it depends on which direction they can take, some are very thoughtful[/quote]
