I think they are having to move a lot faster these days to get all the packages delivered. This happens to our neighbors who have the plastic mailboxes more often than anyone else.
This is true. My friend's daughter became a mail carrier, then postmaster in a rural town, then a supervisor of carriers in a small city. The Amazon last mile deliveries and time demands are horrific and they can't keep carriers longer than a few months. She went 56 days without a day off last year. Another friend's daughter tried carrier job, left after 2 weeks.
Also, that guy Trump nominated is still postmaster general I believe. Shutting down a lot of hubs in the midwest. The rural state where my friend's daughter lives now has exactly one hub on the eastern border of a state almost 400 miles E-W and 250 N-S. Priority mail got sent to my son from Texas on the 12th. two days ago it was in Missouri and still waiting for delivery.
