If it is just you it’s probably your mailbox. Is the magnet functioning properly? You might need a new mailbox.

Our mail carrier is so nice. It’s like living in Mr Roger’s neighborhood. He knows all the families and I feel like he looks out for everyone.

When she leaves the street she drives right past the open mailbox door. One would think to close the door, not her. Her job description requires her or him to open and close the Mailbox door, I want her fired after 8 door openings. She has been told several times not to do this and she repeats the action.

I honestly don’t understand the “theft” comments. Do you all have mailboxes with locks or something? If it’s a regular box at the end of the driveway that just opens and closes, it wouldn’t be all that difficult for a thief to take whatever is in there, regardless of whether the postman left it open.

He doesn't like you. What did you do?

This happens to our neighbors who have the plastic mailboxes more often than anyone else.

This is true. My friend's daughter became a mail carrier, then postmaster in a rural town, then a supervisor of carriers in a small city. The Amazon last mile deliveries and time demands are horrific and they can't keep carriers longer than a few months. She went 56 days without a day off last year.

Another friend's daughter tried carrier job, left after 2 weeks.

Also, that guy Trump nominated is still postmaster general I believe. Shutting down a lot of hubs in the midwest. The rural state where my friend's daughter lives now has exactly one hub on the eastern border of a state almost 400 miles E-W and 250 N-S.

Priority mail got sent to my son from Texas on the 12th. two days ago it was in Missouri and still waiting for delivery.

There's a difference between empty and full.

USPS seems to have gone seriously downhill. Mail takes way longer to get anywhere, and I’ve had a few pieces recently that never made it their destinations. Regarding mailboxes, ours never puts the flag back down agree picking up. Must be too difficult.

The US postal service is a model of efficiency.

In a few years our nationalized doctors will be as sloppy about sewing you up after an operation as this mailman is about closing the mailbox.

SNITCH!
Seriously!?

Different poster, but Yes! Seriously! Our letter carrier was out for months for surgery and his backup/ sub was awful. Multiple neighbors reported it to the post office and it was resolved.

It has happened to us for 3 years. I have left several notes. She is good for awhile but it always goes back to open mailbox. This week alone it was left open 4x. Our mailbox is no different from our neighbors or our neighborhood as we all have the exact same box. Mine is the only one left open. My notes have been kindly worded as I do not want to make anything worse. I just don’t know what else to do. I can call the post office but I’m worried about retaliation. Our mail gets wet and every Xmas season I worry about theft.
