It's hard to say without knowing what the comments are. Is he saying that bio-males shouldn't compete in women's sports or is he saying that women shouldn't vote? If this is a drastic change, then take him to a doctor for a check up. If he's just slowly changing his views, then talk to him about why. See if there's some way to meet on common ground before just divorcing. There are lots of couples with one R and one D. It's not like either side is 100% right or wrong. In real life, adults don't leave their spouse the second their views diverge.
NP. Every time there is one of these threads there are always these posters that really believe the issue is differing political views. If this is you I promise that you simply do not understand what people are living through. I've kept my marriage together, but just barely. I would love to have a political discussion with my husband, but that's not possible anymore because any such discussion will cause him to pretty much froth at the mouth with rage inside of five minutes. It's painful and isolating.
I understand. There is a big difference between having political views and getting agitated about things. It’s also not a conservative thing, there are tons of militant internet progressives (inc. in this site) and some people who have no political affiliation but get into conspiracy theories, etc. There’s something about social media feeding people rage bait from one perspective that gets people riled up. It’s a form of soft addiction. If these people stop social media for 90 days, mood will dramatically improve. Doesn’t mean he’ll change from conservative to liberal but he won’t be in that drumbeat of negativity. Can you make it about screen time OP and see if that helps?
