It would be an interesting dialog if they approached it seriously. In fact, I think that if they could get past the politics, Republicans and Democrats in DC could study what actually works and adjust government programs so they helped more, wasted less, and inconvenienced fewer.

Yes, but that is not what Romney said. He said the 47% who don't pay federal income taxes don't take responsibility for themselves and he can't make them do that.
