[/quote] Right now about 550 kids (100%) are admitted on a non-merit basis as freshmen. Sure, some of those kids would have gotten in under a merit system but probably less than a third of them. On the bright side, the level of stress for that third to be in the top third of the class is significantly reduced. The froshmores are admitted on a merit basis.[/quote]
