That’s generally not negotiable.[/quote] You're right, they're not the same: foreign language for college admission works on levels (btw level 3 foreign lang for a STEM kid may be fine, as it was for my senior). English works on credits. OP's kid has 5 high school credits for English, assuming the credits taken in middle school are on the high school transcript (this may vary by district, as some districts might only carry up high school math and foreign lang credits taken in middle school). My rising junior has additional English credits from having taken two semesters of dual enrollment English in 10th. He will have 4-5 English credits at the end of next year and is considering graduating early from high school, at the end of jr yr.[/quote]
