I am not the PP you are referring to, but my home is not "surrounded by poor neighborhoods." Our kids attend a Focus school. My home is in an affluent neighborhood, near other affluent neighborhoods, but also near some apartment buildings housing lower income people. Their housing is higher density than our housing, so lots of kids come from a small area of a few blocks.
